We will probably never be able to completely eliminate the need for gasoline from our cars, and the number of times we’ll be seen using gas will surely rise as we’re all aware of the dangers of oil spills, but we can take steps to make our cars and the environment more efficient and safer. The best way to do this is to improve the fuel efficiency of our cars.
One obvious way to do this is to improve the performance of the internal combustion engines (ICE). While there are still some who argue that these ICEs are the best, newer ones are even better, and they have better engines capable of significantly higher fuel efficiency. But the internal combustion engines themselves are a huge problem because of the massive amount of carbon dioxide and sulfur we spew into the atmosphere every time we take a puff.
The biggest problem with improving the fuel efficiency of ICE cars is the combustion process itself. The internal combustion engines burn a mixture of air, gasoline, and a small amount of diesel fuel in a cylinder that compresses and releases the gasoline. The gasoline burns in the cylinder and is burned to drive the engine.

Of course, while the technology has been used for decades now, it isn’t cheap to implement. The spark itself is about $100,000, which you may remember was the price of the first Ford Mustang, which was, incidentally, one of the first cars to be produced on a small island off the coast of San Diego. The first spark has been a real boon for the economy on the island, so the tech is already being used.
